THE BIGGEST MISFORTUNE FOR THE HINDU CIVILISATION WAS THE ARRIVAL OF SAVAGE MUSLIM INVADERS FROM ARABIA, TURKEY, IRAN AND AFGHANISTAN. THEY BEHAVED LIKE THE PROVERBIAL BULL IN THE CHINA SHOP-DESTROYING, KILLING, ABDUCTING, RAPING AND FORCIBLE CONVERSIONS BESIDES TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF UNIVERSITIES, SCHOOLS, INSTITUTIONS AND TEMPLES. FOR A THOUSAND YEARS HINDU SPIRIT AND MANHOOD WERE "KILLED" BY THOUSAND CUTS.
THE NATION WAS SO WEAK IN 1947 THAT THEY COULD NOT EVEN SPEAK OR STAND UP AGAINST THE UNCONDITIIONAL SURRENDER OF ONE THIRD OF INDIA (PARTITION).

From the beginning to the Gupta Period ( 7th Century AD, India was never under foreign rule. Those were the glorious periods. Then the Indians started showing their color - Diversity is the strength type slogans. Dahir got defeated and Muslims won. Later, Jaipal lost and committed suicide ( died in the chitaa ). Lost to Md Ghaznavi - after that - there was no end of losses.
The Marathas almost recovered it but fought among themselves - so lost in Panipat III due to over extended situation - fighting in the wrong turf. Madhav Rao recovered it but died very young. British replaced them.
By chance - India got independence more due to the German attack on UK - shattering the British economy and also under American pressure. Indian leaders thought that they drove British out. While going they set the country on fire - creating India and Pakistan - all that was needed by them before leaving.
Lives of Indians hardly meant mush. Now, the leaders of India and Pakistan are living under illusion - being one of the poorest people in the world and I do not have much hopes if they do not shape up - stop fighting and build the country economically and also in strength by rapid industrialization.
They have to get rid of corrupt politics for this rapid building up.
