This Thailand was, the same Thailand that, once told these very Muslims
“If you don’t like Statues, you can very well leave Thailand and go to any Islamic country. We have no objection”.
This happened a few decades ago, when the local Muslims objected to a Statue of Buddha in the precinct of a Municipal office, the Muslims said that Islam does not like status and hence this Buddha statue has to be removed.
The Thai Government told them – This is a Buddhist country and said “If you don’t like Statues, you can very well leave Thailand and go to any Islamic country. We have no objection”.
Perhaps the Thais ignored or overlooked the imminent and inherent danger that Muslims posed.
Alas, they are paying, and will pay, a bitter price.
