BOTTOM LINE IS THAT MUSLIMS DON'T THINK THAT THEY ARE INDIANS !!!

IN U.K., THEY HATE LOCALS, IN USA THEY HATE AMERICANS..SO IF THE HATE INDIANS IN INDIA, THERE IS NOTHING TO WONDER ABOUT !!!

IN THEIR TERMS, ANY NON MUSLIM IS WORTHY OF ATTACK !!!AND A HINDU ESPECIALLY SO !!!

But do not forget that Islam preaches peace, compassion, harmony..etc and votaries of Kashmir want Hindus back in Kashmir !!!

How otherwise they can kill Hindu living far away from Kashmir ? It costs money to travel to Hindu majority areas !!!

A Hindu in hand is worth 100 away from Kashmir !!!

 Sir,

The controversy over Shri Amarnath Yatra has wider ramifications. The capitulation of the government's in the Centre and the state to the dictates of fundamentalists and communal forces is a shame. The message underlining the campaign led by Peoples Democratic Party, both the factions of Hurriet Conference and the various terrorist regimes is simple-A Hindu pilgrimage to any place in Kashmir valley has to conform to the guidelines of Islamist separatists. The contours of the Yatra have to be in consonance with the wishes of fundamentalists.

Over the years, since the expulsion of Kashmiri Hindus from the Valley, the successive governments in Delhi and J&K have tried to circumvent the issue of Islamic fundamentalism, which has taken the stranglehold of the Muslim social milieu in Kashmir Valley. The government has also tried to underplay the threat of Islamist terrorism in the state. The government has hoped that through generating an economic activity in the Kashmir Valley and creating an economic vested interest amongst the people it can effectively neutralize the separatists and fundamentalists sentiments. The results have been the opposite. The economic activity which the government has generated has acted as a feeding line for the separatism and fundamentalism to remain alive.

Promoting tourism in Kashmir Valley has been one of the main components of the governments policy in the State. This policy has totally ignored the issue of security of the tourists visiting in the Valley. When a tourist visits Kashmir, he is most of the times ignorant about what is happening around. If his visit is uneventful and he has no brush with terrorism or separatism, he goes out and proclaims that 'Kashmir is more than normal'. He is not even fully aware how in Kashmir valley, he has to pay many times more for his tour and travel than any other place in India. Even if, he understands that he has been paying through his nose, he rarely understands the reasons for the people in the Valley to fleece a tourist who is the mainstay of their economy.

Last but not the least, a tourist visiting Kashmir does not know the nature and intensity of threat to his life. European countries and America have travel advisories to their citizens against visiting Kashmir. The Kashmiri separatists lobby a lot to seek the support of Europe and USA for their 'cause'. For this reason, the tourists from these places are relatively less vulnerable for a 'terrorist attack' or 'blackmail' . The domestic tourists from India have no such insulation from the attack terrorists and are at a greater risk. The recent threats by the Islamists fundamentalists to the non-Kashmiri labourers most of whom are Muslims from other parts of India, can explain the intensity of vulnerability of the tourists visiting Kashmir Valley most of whom are Hindus.

Domestic tourism to Kashmir Valley also acts as a tool of disinformation. It keeps the mirage of normalcy in Kashmir alive. It hides the intensity and the reach of communalism in Kashmir. It always does so at the cost of the lives, respect and resources of the citizens of India.

The campaign against Amarnath Yatra exposes the ugly face of communalism ruling the roosts in the State.

Let us try to intervene effectively in the situation. Interventions have to be small but meaningful. Interventions have to be such which will make separatism, communalism, and terrorism in Kashmir full of stakes. Today, let us resolve to intervene by telling all friends, relatives or acquaintances that they will not choose Kashmir valley as a destination for tourism because:-

 1. There lives are in danger.

2. They are hated in Kashmir because they are Indians.

3. The money which they spend eventually goes to the coffers of separatism and fundamentalism.

4. Tourism to Kashmir hides the real situation in the State from rest of India.

Let us adopt travel advisories against visiting Kashmir Valley. These travel advisories should be adopted by the individuals, Mohalla Committees, Temple/Shrine Committees, NGOs, Unions at work places. Let us approached the travel agencies and apprise them that the tours which they conduct to Kashmir Valley cause a graved danger to their clients. They become unknowingly support structures for the separatist campaign in the Valley.
