WHAT KIND OF DEMOCRACY WILL PAKISTAN HAVE?

Date: 03 Jan 2008

Comment:

The assassinated Pakistani Leader Benazir Bhutto is alleged to have wished that the reins of her Party be transferred to her husband Asif Zardari.

The mentle has also been passed on to their 19 Years old son Belal Zardari. For this purpose he has been renamed as Belal Bhutto Zardari. It is all symbolic to the theory of Divine Rights to govern.

Unfortunately democracy and Islam are two opposing banks of a river and thus irreconciliable. To the misfortune of Pakistan, it is an era, where democracy is preferred globally and autocracy or dictatorship is abhored.

Poor Pakistan will have to do with either Guided democracy or Buniadi Jamuherten type of gimmicks! This would be the best face saving formula of a theocratic country.
