Disqualify Sonia Gandhi ////// Disqualify Sonia Gandhi from the day She became an MP in 2004 till the date of her resignation and collect back all the money spent on her. President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's order that Samajwadi MP Jaya Bachchan be disqualified from the Rajya Sabha with retrospective effect has put the Upper House Secretariat in a quandary about how to execute the order from back date of July 14, 2004. Similar thing should be applicable to Sonia Gandhi as well. Sonia Gandhi cannot contest another Lok Sabha Election till a decision is made in this regard. I suggest that a PIL should be filed in this regard /////// Rajya Sabha in a fix over Jaya ouster http://www.deccan.com/Nation/NationalNews.asp?#Rajya%20Sabha%20in%20a%20fix%20over%20Jaya%20ouster ///// New Delhi, April 11: President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's order that Samajwadi MP Jaya Bachchan be disqualified from the Rajya Sabha with retrospective effect has put the Upper House Secretariat in a quandary about how to execute the order from back date — July 14, 2004. The secretariat has approached the Union law ministry in this regard and is now awaiting a reply, sources said. This is because it being the first case in the annals of Parliament and would set a precedent. Dr Kalam had disqualified Ms Bachchan from the Rajya Sabha for holding an "office of profit" as Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council chief last month. He acted on the Election Commission's recommendation. The most difficult task before the Rajya Sabha Secretariat is what to do about Ms Bachchan's parliamentary work from July 14, 2004 to March 17, 2005. She had participated in debates, asked questions, voted on bills. Should all this be expunged from the records. If, yes. How can it be done, sources in the secretariat asked. What about the work she had recommended under the MPLAD scheme, which is meant to create durable assets, they added The Rajya Sabha secretariat is said to be keen on a clear directive from the government in the execution of the disqualification order. The sources said money that a disqualified MP spent on different facilities can be recovered, but the performance on the floor of the House cannot be wiped out completely. A Rajya Sabha member is entitled to Rs 12,000 salary per month and a daily allowance of Rs 500 for each day during any period of residence of duty — to attend a session of Parliament or a sitting of a committee thereof or any other parliamentary business, accommodation, free electricity up to 50,000 units per year and 4,000 kilolitres of water. ////// 000000000
