CHANDIGARH: Defence minister George Fernandes has expressed concern that infiltration from Bangladesh is continuing on a massive scale despite the heavy deployment of security forces in border areas.
He has cautioned that rampant corruption in paramilitary and state police forces is jeopardising national security. Inaugurating a seminar on ''Integrated Management of National Security'' at the Panjab University auditorium on Saturday, Fernandes said that in talks held with the Army commander of the Eastern Command, he was told that on an average one lakh Bangladeshis were illegally entering the country each month and settling in the bordering states.
